Muckleshoot Tribal Elder Mike Jerry Sr. passes down traditional techniques of salmon smoking to the next generation, and in doing so, connects with the ancestors who came before us. The salmon are an essential part of Muckleshoot culture and spirituality. Smoking salmon is a way of connecting to our roots and preserving tradition for generations of Muckleshoot Tribe members to come.
